molson_logoMONTREAL, ON – In a webcast viewed yesterday by employees of Molson Coors Brewing Company around the world, Eric Molson announced his retirement from his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board, ending his 50 years with the company founded by his ancestor John Molson in 1786.

According to a post on the Molson In The Community blog, the event featured speeches and tributes from Molson Coors executives including Chairman of the Board, Peter Coors; President and CEO of Molson Coors, Peter Swinburn; and President and CEO of Molson Canada, Kevin Boyce; as well as VP of Marketing in Quebec and Eric’s son, Geoff Molson. The retiring Molson was presented with a bottle of Molson’s Classic Ale, a beer brewed especially for the occasion, and gave a few words himself.

It was also announced that son Andrew Molson would be taking over the role of Vice-Chairman of the Board, and that Geoff Molson would be joining the board as well.
