  1. I decided to eat dinner at The Syndicate Restaurant tonight and I have to say I had a very good experience. The inside of the restaurant itself was very warm and welcoming. There is a fireplace against the one wall and with a total of 10 tables that each sits 4 people, it allows for a very intimate dining experience. My friend and I had the “Two can dine” special which is $29.99. This includes an appetizer, main course and dessert each. The food was excellently prepared and the wait staff were warm and friendly without being intrusive. The food itself tasted high-brow but without the high brow cost. But like all “high-brow” fare, although the food was awesome, if you have a large appetite, then you may want to pass by The Syndicate. For dinner I had the fish. This included a 4 oz piece of fish, 6 string beans and about a quarter cup fennel/onion puree. My friend has the steak. This included a 4 oz Steak, 6 string beans and 2 potato latkes that were each a little bigger then a twoonie. As an appetizers you have the choice of onion soup or Caesar salad and dessert is either a warm brownie with ice cream or Creme Brule. Both my friend and I (who both have small appetites) were satisfied with the amount of food served but we also both agreed that our husbands would have been home hunting in the fridge for dinner after eating here.
