TORONTO, ON – Amsterdam Brewing has brought back Oranje Weisse as their seasonal beer for summer 2011, and has also made it available at the LCBO and the Beer Store for the first time.
Previously released only on draught and a limited run of bottles available exclusively at the brewery retail store, production of the beer has been upped this year to produce enough for wider distribution.
A press release describes Oranje Weisse as follows:
As an ode to Amsterdam’s Dutch heritage, Oranje Weisse is a premium, unfiltered white beer. Predominantly brewed with un-malted wheat, which gives it a hazy appearance, the Brewery has also added two types of orange peel and some coriander resulting in a unique flavour combination of citrus and light spice.
The release of this year’s batch of Oranje Weisse will be marked with an open house tasting event at the Amsterdam Brewery on Saturday May 21st from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. Bottles will be available for sale at the launch, and are now available at select LCBO and Beer Store locations.
