Howe Sound Releasing New Beer for St. Jean Baptiste Day

SQUAMISH, BCPique Newsmagazine reports that Howe Sound Brewing has created a new beer especially for Fête de la St-Jean-Baptiste celebrations taking place in Squamish on June 24th, as well as Whistler’s Multicultural Celebration which runs June 27th to 29th.

Named via a contest run by the event organizers, the beer has been dubbed La BrewHAHA!, a name submitted by Anne-Marie Riopel of Sorel, Québec. The name was chosen before the beer was made, and it inspired Howe Sound brewer Paul Wilson:

“La BrewHAHA! speaks to me as a strong beer, like an uproar or even an explosion in the mouth as the French word would suggest,” said Wilson. “It also lends to festivity and summer celebration. I expect to brew a craft beer with character, which will crown one of Squamish’s most popular summer festivals.”

La BrewHAHA! will be previewed at a tasting being held today at Quest University, before being made officially available at next month’s events.
