B.C. Breweries Take Medals at 2011 North American Brewing Awards

IDAHO FALLS, ID – The North American Brewing Association (NABA) handed out their 2011 awards at the 17th annual Mountain Brewers’ Beer Fest last Saturday, June 4th, and four British Columbia breweries represented Canada in the medal standings.
The NABA Beer Awards are the second largest commercial beer awards in North America, and feature over 1000 beers from over 200 breweries judged in over 70 different style categories.
Here are the B.C. breweries and beers that placed in this year’s competition:

Howe Sound Brewing (Squamish, BC)
Gold – Kristall Weizen/Berliner Weisse – Goldtooth Berliner Weisse
Silver – Weizen Bock – King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen
Bronze – Herbed/Spiced – Pumpkineater Pumpkin Ale
R & B Brewing (Vancouver, BC)
Gold – American Style Wheat Beer – SunGod Wheat Ale
Bronze – English Pale Ale – Red Devil Pale Ale
Bronze – English-Style India Pale Ale – Hoppelganger I.P.A.
Whistler Brewing (Whistler, BC)
Gold – Bavarian Style Hefeweizen – Whistler Weissbier Wheat Ale
