Molson Wins Final Round of NHL Sponsorship Battle

TORONTO, ONThe Toronto Star reports that the back-and-forth battle between Molson-Coors Canada and Labatt Breweries over a lucrative National Hockey League sponsorship deal has finally come to a close, with Molson coming out on top.

In a brief ruling issued just hours before the start of the first games in the NHL’s 2011-12 season, Ontario Superior Court judge Geoffrey Morawetz dismissed Labatt’s application to stop a multi-year $375-million deal between the League and Molson, with reasons to follow at a later date.
