Townsite Brewing Getting Ready to Launch

POWELL RIVER, BC – While it’s a bit later than the summer launch that was being aimed for when plans for Townsite Brewing were announced last year, it looks like BC’s newest craft brewery should be up and running before the end of 2011.

In a press release distributed today, Townsite owners Karen Skadsheim and Steve Brooks announced that they’ve hired Belgian-trained brewmaster Cedric Dauchot, who oversaw the opening of four Canadian locations of the 3 Brasseurs brewpub chain, and has more recently been working at Paddock Wood in Saskatchewan.

The announcement also notes that the brewery equipment is due to be delivered at the end of November, and they intend to be up and running soon after, with plans to brew three regular brands plus assorted seasonal and one-off releases.

  1. Both Big Surf and Townsite don’t have their websites up and running. This is disappointing especially in 2011. Hopefully more information will be available soon about their plans.
