Craft Beer Meets Gourmet Chowder in Support of Ocean Wise

VANCOUVER, BC & TORONTO, ONChowder Chowdown, an annual fundraising event for the Vancouver Aquarium‘s sustainable seafood awareness program Ocean Wise, is returning once again to Vancouver and Toronto, and as with previous editions, craft beer will be the beverage of choice.

On November 2nd, ten of Toronto’s top chefs will be serving their signature seafood chowders at the Fairmont Royal York, each paired with a beer from Mill Street Brewery.

In Vancouver, the Chowdown will happen at Vancouver Aquarium on November 23rd, with a dozen local chefs pairing their chowders will brews from several BC breweries including Granville IslandRed Truck, Lighthouse Brewing and Vancouver Island.

At both events, a panel of expert judges will sample all of the chowders and crown the Ocean Wise Seafood Chowder Champion of 2011, and attendees will be able to place their own votes for a People’s Choice Award.
