CALGARY, AB – Big Rock Brewery founder Ed McNally has announced that he is retiring from his position as the company’s Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.
In a press release issued on Thursday, it was stated that McNally – who founded Big Rock in 1985, and has built it into one of Canada’s largest regional breweries – would retain his role as Chairman of the Board, but that he is “look(ing) forward to having more time to spend with my other two passions: my wife Linda and my berry plantation.”
Replacing McNally as CEO of the company is Robert Sartor, who most recently served as CEO of sporting goods retail company The Forzani Group from 2003 until 2011 when it was purchased by Canadian Tire.
