CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced the release of Village Monk Chai Winter Porter, a new winter seasonal beer available exclusively in Calgary in very limited quantities.
Village Monk was brewed in collaboration with Kelci Hind and Colin Leach of The Silk Road Spice Merchant. According to brewmaster Larry Kerwin, “A combination of ginger, cardamom, clove, peppercorn, fennel, cinnamon and mint were added to the chocolate and caramel malts to make our first Village winter porter.”
Village Monk is released in a limited run of 700 1.89 litre growlers available at the Village Brewery retail store and select liquor retailers in Calgary. It will also be available on draught at a limited number of bars and restaurants in the city.
