TORONTO, ON – Roger Mittag, founder of beer education consulting company Thirst For Knowledge and the affiliated Prud’homme Beer Certification program, has announced an expansion into Western Canada.
Beer industry veteran Ken Beattie will be representing Thirst For Knowledge in the west, and facilitating in-person Prud’homme classes in the region.
“This represents a large step forward for a nationally recognized beer education program”, said Mittag in a statement. “Demand has been growing steadily and it is important to be able to provide classroom sessions across the country.”
Named for Louis Prud’homme, Canada’s first licensed brewer, the Prud’homme program was launched in 2009 as a classroom program, before expanding into an online course in 2011. It is Canada’s only nationwide beer knowledge certification program, and continues to be offered in both classroom and online versions.
The only Ken Beattie I’ve ever heard of was a Sleeman salesman. Must be a different guy.
