TORONTO, ON – Amsterdam Brewery has announced the release of latest instalment in the Amsterdam Adventure Brews series of limited edition beers.
Amsterdam Goedenavond is a unique golden ale aged in wine barrels that was first released in a very small edition last fall, just before Amsterdam moved from their now demolished downtown Toronto location to Leaside.
Now available in a slightly larger edition, Goedenavond – the Belgian term for “Good Evening” – is described as follows:
The Belgian brewers’ answer to the golden Pilsner lager from Bohemia, Goedenavond is our take on the Belgian Golden Ale. One of two of our Adventure Brews wine barrel aged releases, this beer was aged in Flat Rock Pinot Noir barrels for six months. German malts, Belgian yeast and Styrian Goldings hops provide the base. Aromas of oak and cherries with a touch of yeast esters lead way to deep barrel flavours and a pleasant tannic roundness with a clean, dry finish.
Goedenavond will go on sale at the Amsterdam retail store at 5:00 PM today in a limited run of 650 ml bottles that will remain on sale while quantities last.
