Great Lakes My Bitter Wife Heading to LCBO

TORONTO, ON – Beer writer Ben Johnson revealed on his blog this morning that Great Lakes Brewery will be increasing the availability of one of its popular but usually quite  limited IPAs.

My Bitter Wife IPA is the latest brand to be released under the Tank Ten label, a series of experimental Great Lakes beers that are promoted to a larger batch and rotated through the brewery’s fermentation tank #10 before release.

Named in honour of radical temperance advocate Carrie Nation and featuring a caricature of her and her infamous axe on the label, the 7.0% abv My Bitter Wife will be launched tomorrow (Thursday April 18th) with a party at the brewery running from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

It will subsequently be available in 650 ml bottles at the Great Lakes retail store, and is expected to be on shelves at select LCBO locations starting next week while supplies last.

  1. My husband calls me Carrie Nation because I give him a hard time when he drinks . This is perfect because he loves IPA’s.
