TORONTO, ON – Amsterdam Brewery and Great Lakes Brewery announced this morning that they will be releasing their collaborative beer Maverick & Gose at the LCBO, the first time that a collaboration from two Ontario breweries will be available via the province’s retail liquor chain.
Developed in early 2012 by brewers Iain Mcoustra of Amsterdam and Mike Lackey of Great Lakes, and originally available in limited quantities at several events last summer, this unique and distinctive beer is described as follows:
Maverick & Gose is a Leipziger Gose Beer that has been aged in Ontario Chardonnay barrels for 4 months prior to packaging. A rare German brew of medieval origin, this 2012 Canadian Brewing Awards Silver Medalist beer is brewed with a mostly malted wheat base, pink Himalayan salt, and spices. Notes of lemon, herbs and a slight saltiness make this collaboration truly unique to Ontario.
Maverick & Gose will be available at select LCBOs and the Amsterdam retail store starting April 29th, retailing for $6.95 per 500 ml bottle.
