Beau’s won the vote for the favourite beer in the Collaboration Nation section of the festival, which featured beers from 20 different breweries that had been created in conjunction with various celebrities and local personalities from across Ontario. As the winner, The Tom Green Beer – a milk stout made by Beau’s and comedian Tom Green – will be brewed in larger quantities and released at select LCBO outlets in the fall.
The other competition was to pick best brewery at Session, and the honour went to Spearhead for the third year in a row. The award was sponsored by glassware provider Brand Concepts, and the prize is a trip to Halifax for one of Spearhead’s representatives to attend the Seaport Beer Festival in August, where Spearhead beer will be served under the “Best of Session” banner.
