CORNWALL, ON – It may be a year or so before they have it officially up and running, but the husband and wife team of A.J. and Karen Rorabeck will be previewing their Rurban Brewing project this coming weekend at the National Capital Craft Beer Week Festival.

Named using a portmanteau of the words “rural” and “urban,” Rurban is planned to be a “family-owned, small-batch brewery” with beers developed by A.J., a participant in the Ottawa-area Members of Barleyment homebrewing club with 8 years experience making his own beer.

The couple of currently working on financing and hope to have a brewery in operation in Cornwall by next summer. But in the meantime, they will be on hand to meet attendees at the NCCBW Festival in the “Opening Soon” tent, which they will be sharing with fellow future breweries Square Timber Brewing and Covered Bridge Brewing.

For more details on Rurban Brewing and the Rorabecks plans to get it off the ground, see the brewery website, Facebook page and Twitter feed.
