COLLINGWOOD, ON – Just over a year after it was first announced, the Collingwood Brewery became the first of three planned breweries in Collingwood to open its doors to the public this past Saturday, just in time to satisfy the May long weekend thirst of local beer drinkers.

Founded by partners Tim Cachia, Art Joyce, Greg Widell and Chris Freeman, the brewery launched with a single flagship brand – Downhill Pale Ale, a 5.4% American-style pale ale – which is available in 473 ml cans and 30 litre kegs at the brewery store and tasting room.

Following on the Saturday to Monday opening hours of this past weekend, Collingwood Brewery will be open for retail sales on Friday through Sunday in coming weeks.
