CALGARY, ABBig Rock Brewery has announced the release of a pair of cherry-flavoured beers as the latest installments in its two series of limited edition offerings.

Returning in the Alchemist Edition series after a draught-only release last year is Cherazz, a 4.1% abv Belgian-style ale aged on cherries and raspberries. It’s described by the brewery as follows:

That first golden sip of cold beer on a hot sultry day is one of the purest moments of summer. To craft that moment in to the most refreshing, perfect punch, Brewmaster Paul Gautreau set his sights on Belgium’s centuries-old tradition of fine fruit beers. Starting with imported Belgian yeast and at carefully-timed points throughout the fermentation process, Paul blended dark sweet cherries, lively tart cherries and succulent raspberries, creating a superb brew with a delicate mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

There’s only one way to adequately descirbe what you get when you combine the finest malted prairie balrey, golden wheat and Cascade hops. The Bomb. When you add cherries in the mix, well, it becomes the Cherry Bomb. And when you put it into this big of a bottle, you get the Cherry Bomber.

Both beers are available now in 650 ml bottles at liquor stores in Alberta and British Columbia while supplies last, with Cherazz released in an especially limited edition of 3,000 bottles.
