TORONTO, ONAmsterdam BrewHouse – the lakeside brewpub off-shoot of Amsterdam Brewery – has announced the release of its first beer created in collaboration with the brewpub’s head chef Avaughn Wells.

The debut Chef’s Brew from Wells and the Amsterdam brewing team is Chef’s Wit, a Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with lime zest, cilantro and basil replacing the usual coriander and orange peel. The result is described as follows:

Chef’s Wit pours a hazy light orange with a cloudy, lacy and delicate head. The nose is all herbs and lime pith, and you’ll taste a fruitiness from the yeast up front, with a mild herbaceous note and lime zest in the finish. This fizzy 6% Wit pairs well with our Crispy Fish Tacos, our Grilled Swordfish, and our Margherita Pizza.

Chef’s Wit is on tap now at the Amsterdam BrewHouse for a limited time.
