WHITEHORSE, YKYukon Brewing has announced that a seasonal beer first offered in a special holiday package last year has returned, and is now available as a stand-alone release.

39 1/2 Foot Pole Black Currant IPA made its debut as one of the beers in the 2013 edition of the Craft Beer Advent Calendar. It’s now back on its own, and this year made with fresh black currants rather than puree, and an assortment of hops including Sterling, Galaxy, Calypso, Legacy, and Belma.

In the release announcement, Yukon notes that “the sweet tartness of black currants and the hoppiness of the beer (from some unusual hops, at least for us) hit the nail on the head.”

39 1/2 Foot Pole is out now in a limited run of 650 ml bombers available in the Yukon and Alberta, and on the growler fill station at the Yukon Brewery retail store.
