Picaroons Releases Limited Edition Kelp On The Way Ale

FREDERICTON, NBPicaroons Traditional Ales has announced the release of a new limited edition ale made using a unique locally-sourced ingredient.

Kelp On The Way is a 5.8% abv and 22 IBU ale described as follows:

This dark and smokey ale has been brewed with a generous helping of real organic sugar kelp (Saccharina Latissima) harvested off of the shores near St. George, New Brunswick, by way of Dr. Thierry Chopin of UNB Saint John. The kelp is heavily blanketed by a strong malt backbone of roasted and smoked malts, and balanced out by a gentle hopping of Fuggles and Goldings hops. It’s like drinking a dark, malty, smokey beer, right after a cool brisk swim in the Bay of Fundy.

Kelp On The Way is on tap now at the Picaroons Brewtique for sampling and growler sales while supplies last.
