CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced release details for its newest limited edition seasonal brand.
Village Triplet is a 4.5% abv Kölsch-style beer flavoured with three different berries and described as follows:
French and Canadian pilsner malt alongside Vienna malt gives this approachable beer a complex malt flavour. This proved to be a challenging beer to make as we refuse to use artificial extracts for flavor. Adding real blueberry, blackberry and saskatoon berry puree created a very pleasant and sweet berry flavour with a distinguishing pink hue. The aroma of oranges and strawberry come from the dry hopping addition of Belma hops.
The branding for the beer features the photos and stories of three sets of local triplets – Neil, Keith and Brent Loach; Amanda, Alex and Alicia Gomez; and Rhonda Francis, Terri Dutka and Lou Barron.
Triplet will be launched tomorrow (May 6th) as part of Village Brewery’s weekly open house from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, and it will be available in six-packs at select liquor stores in Alberta throughout the summer.
