WINNIPEG, MBHalf Pints Brewing has announced that several limited edition beers from the past have returned, including three that haven’t been seen in six years, and one that is back for a fifth annual appearance.

The long-absent trio are The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost, a set of Belgian-style ales that are collectively known as The Trinity Series. In a unique brewing process, The Father (a dubbel) – is brewed first, using a yeast harvested from two different Belgian Trappist beers. After it’s brewed, its yeast is then harvested to brew The Son (a dark ale), and the process is done once more to obtain yeast from The Son to brew The Holy Ghost (a witbier).

Returning for its annual summer visit is Queer Beer, a limited edition brew created in partnership with the Pride Winnipeg festival. A Helles-style lager, Queer Beer is described as having “a mild taste, with a slightly fruity aroma derived from the hops.”

The Trinity Series is available now in mixed six packs containing two bottles of each beer, and Queer Beer in its own six packs, at the Half Pints retail store and select Liquor Mart locations. Queer Beer will also be available at various venues during this year’s Pride Winnipeg festival, which runs June 5th to 14th, 2015.
