brewersbackyard_canadaday2015

Welcome to the CBN round-up of beer festivals and events for the coming week (Friday through Thursday), listed here with a bit more detail than what is featured on our popular Beer Festival Calendar page. Watch for a new installment every Thursday – assuming there are any events scheduled for the week ahead, of course.

Friday, June 26, 2015
BECAUSE BEER: LOCAL LIBATIONS
Mills Hardware, 95 King St. E. – Hamilton, ON
This preview event for the upcoming Because Beer festival (July 10 & 11 at Pier 4 Park in Hamilton) will feature “top homegrown beer and cider makers” including Clifford Brewing, Collective Arts Brewing, Garden Brewers, The Hamilton Brewery and West Avenue Cider Company. Admission is free, with sample tokens good for five ounce pours available at a reasonable price of 3 for $10 and 5 for $15.

Friday, June 26, 2015 – Saturday, June 27, 2015
CIDER FEST
Puddicombe Estate, 1468 Highway #8 – Winona, ON
Beer’s fruity cousin – aka cider – is the focus of this festival, which will feature ciders and wines from 15 producers, as well as local food trucks. Oh, and it’s also a country music festival, which may or may not be an incentive to attend depending on your personal musical tastes.

Saturday, June 27, 2015
PARRY SOUND’S BEER FESTIVAL
Waubuno Beach – Parry Sound, ON
Details are a bit sparse about this 2nd annual event, with only two breweries and a cidery listed as vendors on the website. Presumably there will be a few more on hand to pour their brews, along with food vendors and live entertainment.

Saturday, June 27, 2015
BINGEMANS CRAFT BEER & LOCAL BBQ FESTIVAL
Bingemans Kingpin Bowlounge, 425 Bingemans Centre Drive – Kitchener, ON
Another event with not a lot of info available, aside from a promise of providing “the best in local Craft Beers & BBQ culinary delights.”

Saturday, June 27, 2015
FARMHOUSE SAISON & WILD ALE FESTIVAL
UBC Farm – Vancouver, BC
This unique festival will feature only three styles of beer – Saisons, Wild Ales and Sours – from a hand-picked list of local and international breweries. To add to the farmhouse theme, it’s being held on an actual farm, and will have an adjacent Farmers’ Market to purchase food to take home or enjoy with the beer.

Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Ave. – Toronto, ON
