RED DEER, AB – Prairie-focused beer blog On Beer reports that Alberta’s newest craft brewery opened its doors earlier this month in Red Deer.
Founded by brothers and home-brewers Charlie and Graeme Bredo, Troubled Monk Brewery officially launched on June 13th, and is offering cans, growlers and kegs of several brands out of its retail store, including Golden Gaetz Golden Ale (named in honour of Red Deer’s founder Leonard Gaetz), Pesky Pig Pale Ale (commemorating Francis, a pig that escaped the slaughterhouse and lived on the lam for 5 months in 1990), Open Road American Brown Ale, and Homesteader Saison.
