GUELPH, ONWellington Brewery has announced that brewer George Eagleson (left in photo) will be leaving his current position at StoneHammer Brewing and joining the team at Wellington in January.

Eagleson is a 20+ year veteran of Ontario’s brewing industry, having started his career at Upper Canada Brewing in the 1990s, followed by stints at Muskoka and Cool before joining Stonehammer – then known as F&M Brewing – nine years ago.

Known for his gregarious personality and experimental approach to brewing, Eagleson is held in high regard both personally and professionally by his peers in the business, and is well known for his annual Georgapalooza industry party held around his birthday each year, with funds raised going to local charities.

In his new position at Wellington, Eagleson will be working alongside current brewmaster Marvin Dyck (right in photo) to develop recipes for the brewery’s Welly One-Off and Welly Re-Booted small-batch beer programs.
