DARTMOUTH, NSAccording to the Maritime Beer Report, the newest addition to Nova Scotia’s craft brewing scene opened its doors to the public earlier this week in Dartmouth.

Nine Locks Brewing has been founded by Shaun O’Hearn – owner of Rockbottom Brewpub and neighbouring restaurant Your Father’s Moustache in Halifax – along with partner and distant cousin Danny O’Hearn.

Named after the nine locks of the nearby Shubenacadie Canal, the brewery has launched with two brands – ESB and IPA – available on draught at local bars and in growlers at the brewery store.

Two additional brands – Porter and Dirty Blonde – will be joining the line-up soon, and all of the beers will be available later this month in 473 ml cans, with distribution to NSLC and private stores planned to follow.

For more details, see the Nine Locks website, Facebook page and Twitter feed.
