TORONTO, ON – The Ontario Government and the Government of Canada have announced joint investments of more than $1.6 million into 20 craft breweries across the province.
The funding from Going Forward 2, a federal-provincial-territorial program supporting Canada’s agri-food and agri-products sectors, will go towards a variety of projects including equipment purchases and upgrades, staff training, business planning, and marketing and branding initiatives.
“Ontario Craft Brewers thank both the Provincial and Federal governments for the support and for believing in the job creation potential of craft breweries,” said John Hay, president of Ontario Craft Brewers, in a statement. “Growing Forward 2 is a superb grant program which allows government to respond directly to the exact needs breweries have to continue growing and creating more jobs in their communities.”
A full list of the breweries and projects to be funded can be found on the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs website.
