TORONTO, ON – Samuel Adams and the LCBO have announced that 700 bottles of the 2015 vintage of the “rare and revered” Samuel Adams Utopias will be available in Ontario later this month, with brewery founder Jim Koch coming to Toronto for the launch.
350 bottles of Utopias will go on sale on Friday September 23rd at 4:00 PM exclusively at the LCBO’s flagship Summerhill location in Toronto. Each 710 ml bottle of the 28% abv beer will cost $114.95, with a limit of one bottle per customer, and Koch will be on hand from 4:00 to 6:00 PM to meet customers and sign bottles.
The general release will be preceded at 2:00 PM by a tutored tasting led by Koch featuring Utopias and several other Samuel Adams brands, including Boston Lager, Rebel IPA, Octoberfest, Grumpy Monk, Chai Saison, and Cinder Blonde Gratzer. Attendance will be limited to 24 guests, with tickets going on sale tomorrow (September 8th) at 8:30 AM via the helloLCBO phone service at 1-800-668-5226. Tasting event tickets are $75 each, and entitle the customer to purchase a bottle of Utopias before the 4:00 PM release.
In addition to the Utopias release, three of the beers from the tasting event – Grumpy Monk, Chai Saison, and Cinder Blonde Gratzer – will be available to purchase from the growler station at Summerhill, priced at $16 per 1.89 litre growler while supplies last.
The remaining 350 bottles of Utopias will be made available for ordering across the province on Wednesday September 28th at 8:30 AM via VINTAGES Shop Online or by calling 1-800-668-5226. Online customers must set up a Vintages Online account in advance, and sales will be limited to one bottle per customer.
