BURNABY, BCSteamworks Brewery has announced details of two beers that celebrate this year’s hops harvest, one using a crop from within the province, and another using a batch from just across the border.

Hop Attack Fresh Hop IPA is back for a second year, and was made with fresh Centennial hops from Sartori Hop Ranch in Chilliwack. The 6% abv ale is described as “a vibrant IPA with notes of grass and citrus.”

Yak Attack Fresh Hop Pale Ale checks in at a slightly less potent 5.2%, and was brewed with Simcoe hops from the Yakima Valley, a well-known hops growing region in Washington State. It’s said to be “an incredibly balanced and smooth pale ale, showcasing fruity and earthy hop aroma and flavours.”

Both beers will be available next week in select private and government liquor stores in British Columbia, as well as in the Steamworks retail store and taproom in Burnaby.
