Great Lakes Brewery Holding GLB Family Brew Off Challenge

TORONTO, ON – As part of its ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations, Great Lakes Brewery has announced details of a friendly competition between its employees that the public is being invited to judge.

Today only (February 24th), customers at the Great Lakes retail store will be able to take part in the GLB Family Brew Off Challenge. Five small batch beers brewed by different teams from GLB will be available to sample and vote on, and the beer that receives the most votes will be brewed again on GLB’s new pilot system to be released later this year as part of the 30th anniversary beer series.

The teams and the beers they brewed are as follows:

Marketing
Skidless Pale Ale – 4.5%
Backyard hops from Fabian Skidmore’s house.

Production/Packaging
Sexy Poncho – 4.8%
Dark Saison with Blackberries

Office Administration
The Proof is in the Putin – 5.8%
Session Russian Imperial Milk Stout brewed with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and some good ‘ol American jello

Sales (LCBO/Licensee)
Goosfraba Gooseberry Gose – 3.8%
Brewed with wild harvested Ontario Gooseberries used in both primary and secondary.

Milkshake IPA – juicy, strawberry, hazy, with lactose

A limited number of growlers of each beer will also be available to purchase while supplies last.
