Gold Medal Plates Launches Gold Medal Pints Invitational Beer Competition

TORONTO, ONGold Medal Plates, a cross-Canada culinary competition that raises funds for Canada’s Olympic athletes, has announced the addition of an invitational beer competition for 2017.

Gold Medal Pints is being curated by beer writer and expert Stephen Beaumont, who has selected 50 beers from breweries across the country for the competition. Five local beers will be available to sample at the Gold Medal Plates events taking place in the following cities over the next few weeks:

Edmonton – October 12th, 2017
Regina – October 14th, 2017
Montreal – October 17th, 2017
Halifax – October 19th, 2017
St. John’s – October 20th, 2017
Victoria – October 26th, 2017
Saskatoon – October 28th, 2017
Winnipeg – November 1st, 2017
Calgary – November 2nd, 2017
Ottawa – November 9th, 2017
Toronto – November 16th, 2017

The full slate of beers will be judged by a panel of independent beer experts also selected by Beaumont, and the top five will be poured at the Canadian Culinary Championships in Kewlona on February 2nd & 3rd, 2018, where the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners will also be announced.
