Winterlong Brewing Releases 2018 Vintages of Erebus & Terror Imperial Stouts

WHITEHORSE, YK – Winterlong Brewing has announced the release of the third annual edition of a strong winter seasonal beer, as well as the second vintage of its barrel-aged variant.

Erebus (8.5% abv) is an Imperial Stout that takes its name from a ship used in the ill-fated Franklin Expedition of 1845. It’s described as follows:

Enjoy this beer fresh and also save some to age over the next few months to a year to let the flavours really jive and increase in complexity. Also, for the best possible taste enjoyment, let the beer warm up a little, and see the flavours of roast, chocolate, liquorice and molasses jump out at you.

Erebus was released late last week in 650 ml bottles and on tap. An aged keg of the 2017 vintage is also on tap, giving customers the chance to try the new and previous vintages side by side.

Out today is Terror (10% abv), a version of Erebus that has been aged for several months in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon Whiskey barrels. Also named for one of Franklin’s ships, it’s available exclusively in 650 ml bottles.

Both beers will be available at the Winterlong retail store and tap room while supplies last.
