KENORA, ON – TBNewsWatch.com reports that Lake of the Woods Brewing is looking across both provincial and international borders for possible sites for expansion.
Co-owner Taras Manzie tells the website that the company is looking to establish brewing operations in Manitoba and Minnesota, with the latter to be done through a partnership. An expansion of the brewery’s existing facility in Kenora, Ontario is also bring planned.
“We want to service the lake and the lake is touched and surrounded by Minnesota, Manitoba and Ontario,” Manzie says. “That’s sort of our wheelhouse. That’s our backyard. That’s where we’ll play and operate and work to develop communities.”
Manzie notes that the expansion is expected to take up to three years to complete, and that Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation funding will be requested to assist with the expansion of the Kenora brewery.
