Spindrift Brewing Launches Hurricane IPA

DARTMOUTH, NS – Spindrift Brewing has announced the addition of a new beer to its core line-up, one that marks a slight shift in direction for the brewery.

Hurricane IPA (6.2% abv, 60 IBU) is the first year-round ale from the previously lager-focused brewery, and is described as follows by Atlantic Canada Beer Blog:

Hurricane IPA is an unfiltered, West Coast-style IPA. The simple grist was boosted slightly with light additions of Crystal 45 L and Munich malt, giving the beer a light orange/copper colour. Hopped extensively with Amarillo and Comet, the brew features flavours and aromas of “fresh cut grass, pine, ripe melon, zesty grapefruit, and Tim Horton’s peach juice” (now that’s specific!), with a dry finish.

Hurricane IPA is available now in 473 ml cans at the brewery and NSLC locations, and on tap at select craft beer bars in the area.
