District Brewing Founding Brewmaster Jay Cooke Leaves Company

REGINA, SK – District Brewing has announced the resignation of brewmaster Jay Cooke, with his departure being effective last Friday May 18th.

Cooke founded the brewery in October 2012 and had been in charge of brewing operations from the beginning, developing the brewery’s original flagship brand, Müs Knuckle Lager, as well as overseeing the current line-up of four signature lagers.

In a statement, General Manager Joe Van Heerden says, “We will miss Jay’s charm, professionalism, empathy and strength. We respect his decision and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. On behalf of the local brewing community, we wish Jay good luck for the future and bid him a humble and happy farewell.”

Brewers Mbaku Adamu, Quinn Jeffery, and Walter Martin – all of whom worked under Cooke’s leadership – remain with the brewery, ensuring consistency and continuity following Cooke’s departure.
