Propeller Brewing & Beau’s Brewing Releasing Wild Gruit Ale

HALIFAX, NS – Propeller Brewing has announced details of a collaboration with Beau’s Brewing that is being released this week in time for the Canadian Brewing Awards & Conference.

Wild Gruit Ale (5.5% abv) is described as follows:

Wild Gruit Ale is a departure, an exploration of foraged flavours. It’s brewed with hand-harvested organic bog myrtle, native to Northern Ontario and Québec, and staghorn sumac, foraged locally in Halifax. We’ve also added Escarpment Scotia Sauvage yeast from Cape Breton. The bog myrtle contributes a sweet aroma, balanced bitterness, and herbal, spicy notes with the Staghorn Sumac adding a red fruit and citrus complexity.

Wild Gruit Ale will be released tomorrow (May 23rd) with a launch event at Propeller from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. In addition to the new beer being available on tap and in 650 ml bottles, the evening will also feature Beau’s beers on half of the lines in the taproom, and folks from Beau’s will be on hand for a meet & greet and prize giveaways.
