Canvas Brewing Opening Later This Year in Huntsville, Ontario

HUNTSVILLE, ON – The Huntsville Forester and Huntsville Doppler both report that a new brewery is planning to open in the Muskoka Region town later this year.

Canvas Brewing has been founded by Jeffrey Woodworth and Steve Koncan, and will be located in a former Dollarama location at 12 John Street.

Plans for the brewery include an 80-seat taproom with 20 tap lines pouring a wide range of brands that will include “barrel-aged beers, porters, stouts, barley wines, IPAs, Belgian beers, saisons, lagers, and blonde ales.” The facility will also feature two patios – one street-level and one rooftop – and a 3,200-square-foot event space, and a large exterior wall will feature a mural by local artists that will change on an annual basis.

While brewery construction is underway, Canvas is releasing a contract brewed version of Canvas Kölsch (4.5% abv), which Woodworth describes as “an easy-drinking, well-balanced beer that anyone can really enjoy.” It was launched at last weekend’s Muskoka 2/4 Craft Beer Festival, and will be available at bars and restaurants in the area throughout the summer.

Canvas Brewing is expected to open in late 2018. For more details, see the articles linked above, and the Canvas Brewing website.
