Halcyon Barrel House Releases Two New Beers for 1st Anniversary

VANKLEEK HILL, ON – Halcyon Barrel House – an off-shoot of Beau’s All Natural Brewing dedicated to mixed fermentation and barrel aged beers – has announced the release of a pair of new beers to celebrate its first anniversary.

Year One: Anniversary Blend (7.9% abv) is described as follows:

The blended and augmented yield of a handful of our most well-aged, and most interesting barrels from this past year. Think of it as our year-in-review highlight reel. The Year One blend pours effervescent and amber-orange, with foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma is ephemeral, dancing lightly between vanilla, wine and fruits such as apricot. The flavour is tartly sour, with the fruit+vanilla of an orange Creamsicle. It finishes dry, with some lingering funk.

Shifting Sands: Raspberry (6.2% abv) is the latest in a series of fruit-infused sour ales, and has the following notes:

The newest iteration of Shifting Sands is our sour golden ale refermented with 600 kgs of organic raspberries. The barrels for this blend, ranging from 3-10 months old, were selected for their soft acidity to balance the tartness of the fruit. This beer pours pours a vibrant berry-pink, with effervescent carbonation. The aroma is heaps of fresh raspberry and homemade jam. It tastes brightly tart, with raspberry front and centre, and oak tannins from the barrel-aging adding to the body. Finishes dry, with a hint of funk.

Both new beers are available in 750 ml corked & caged bottles at the Beau’s retail store and delivery service while supplies last.
