Manitoulin Brewing and Farquhar’s Dairy Release Lemon Weiss

LITTLE CURRENT, ON – The Manitoulin Expositor reports that Manitoulin Brewing has partnered with an iconic local business for its latest seasonal release.

Lemon Weiss (4.3% abv) is a wheat ale brewed using a German yeast and flavoured with lemon syrup provided by Farquhar’s Dairy in order to evoke the flavour of Farquhar’s Lemonade, a popular summer beverage in the area.

As Blair Hagman of Manitoulin Brewing tells the paper:

We wanted to create a new brew that was ideal for the summer patio. Something that’s low in alcohol but also complements the summer season to be refreshing. That’s when we started to think about what style of beer we’d want to create and we thought about the Lemon Weiss beer. We wondered how we’d be able to utilize some sort of local lemon flavouring in the brew and that’s when Farquhar’s made sense. Everybody looks forward to buying Farquhar’s lemonade in season. We talked to close friends and some even mentioned that they get Farquhar’s lemonade sent to them wherever they are because it’s a great lemonade.

Lemon Weisse is available now in 473 ml cans and on tap at Manitoulin Brewing. It will also be available on tap at select establishments. For more details, see the full article.
