Taphouse Northern Grill & Pub in Sudbury Planning On-Site Brewery

SUDBURY, ONThe Sudbury Star reports that a bar and restaurant already known for its selection of craft beer is planning to become the Sudbury’s first brewpub.

Cardinal Hotel, the owner of Taphouse Northern Grill & Pub, has received city approval for a zoning amendment that will allow for the installation of a small on-site brewhouse. According to the article, the plan calls for the “conversion of approximately 116 square metres of floor area to a microbrewery and associated event/viewing space, which will be adjacent to an existing restaurant.”

Company representative John Arnold tells the paper that while the restaurant and brewery will technically be separate operations, the intention is for them to “work very closely together in a very symbiotic relationship to provide something unique to the community.”

No timelines have been announced for the construction and opening of the brewery. For more details, see the full Sudbury Star report.
