CALGARY, AB – The rumours we reported last week have been confirmed: Big Rock Brewery is releasing Big Rock Lime Light Lager today as a new summer seasonal. A press release issued yesterday indicates that the beer is a 4% lager that will be available in bottles, cans and on draught, with distribution in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The press release also includes the following announcement:
Big Rock recently completed installation of their new pilot brewery, which will provide the brewing team even more creative latitude and result in some unique, colourful brews. Big Rock Lime Lager is one of many upcoming handcrafted seasonal offerings to come.
I have nothing against Big Rock, but although this beer is far better than Bud Light Lime – its a pretty sad effort. I understand they maybe did it in order to steal some market share from Bud Light and switch people over to their craft products – but man oh man is it gross. If you want a lime beer stick with Russell Cactus Lime.
