Granville Island Imperial Chocolate Stout Coming Soon

VANCOUVER, BCGranville Island Brewing is getting set to bring back a favourite seasonal beer from last year, but this year they’ve made it “bigger, stronger (and) more flavourful”.

Originally released last winter as Chocolate Stout, this year’s version has been dubbed Granville Island Imperial Chocolate Stout, and it has once again been brewed in conjunction with Rogers’ Chocolates, one of Canada’s oldest chocolate makers:

“Our Chocolate Stout has been tailored to add some warmth to our dreary winters. This year we have given things a boost and made an Imperial Chocolate Stout, a bigger, stronger more flavourful version of the beer we launched last year” says Vern Lambourne, GIB’s brewmaster. “This beer combines the best organic fair-trade chocolate from Rogers’ with malt and hops to create an aromatic Christmas treat.”

Imperial Chocolate Stout is rich and warming, a perfect complement to Vancouver’s cold winter nights. Brewed with four malt varieties, hops from the Pacific Northwest and of course chocolate, the beer’s dark colouring and aromas of roasted malt, cocoa and coffee flavours are accompanied by dried fruit and a mellow bitterness.

Granville Island Imperial Chocolate Stout will be released on November 28th, and will be available at the GIB retail store on Granville Island and select liquor stores.
