Townsite Brewing Aiming To Launch by Next Summer

POWELL RIVER, BC – The Powell River Peak reports that entrepreneur Karen Skadsheim (pictured above) is planning to launch Townsite Brewing in a former post office in the historic Powell River Townsite area, and hopes to have it up and running by next summer.

The article notes that Skadsheim, along with partner Steve Brooks, is currently working on a rezoning application for the building, after which it will take several months of “renovating the building, installing the brewing equipment and developing a distinctive tipple.”

Skadsheim plans to launch the brewery with three regular brews – “a light ale or lager, a mid-range brew like an India Pale Ale and a darker ale” – as well as a rotating seasonal, with local ingredients used whenever possible. The beers will be available via a retail outlet at the brewery, packaged in 650 ml bomber bottles and 1.9 litre growlers.
