Labatt To Distribute and Brew Keith’s in the USA

According to the post, Graham Kendall, “Brewmaster Emeritus” at the Oland Brewery in Halifax where the Keith’s brand was brewed exclusively until recently, will be working with brewmasters Nick Mills and Rebecca Reid at the Baldwinsville, NY plant of Labatt parent company Anheuser-Busch to prepare the facility to brew Keith’s products for the American market.
As reported last November, Labatt has also been shifting production of some Keith’s brands from the Halifax facility to breweries in other parts of Canada. This move was considered controversial by some, especially since it led to layoffs at the Halifax plant, and it led to a number of online protests and threats of boycotts from Keith’s drinkers. It remains to be seen if this expansion to the US market will trigger a similar reaction.
