Big Surf Beer Co. Launches in Kelowna

KELOWNA, BCThe Bar Towel reports that the BC brewing scene has a new addition with the recent launch of Kelowna’s Big Surf Beer Co..

Started by Dan Allen, a former Labatt sales manager who also owns Kelowna pubs Doc Willoughby’s and the Old Train Station Public House, Big Surf debuted last month with Laid Back Lager. This beer is described as “a well balanced, smooth tasting product” that is “craft brewed in small batches by our Austrian brewmaster (…) using choice European hops and the finest Canadian malt.”

Big Surf Laid Back Lager is available now in 6-pack cans at select BC Liquor Store locations.

  1. STRONG flavored lager with hints of Beach Wood, also has strong after-taste.

    I personaly won’t buy it again, but hey that’s just me. I like my lagers very light in flavor and crisp with little to no after-taste.

  2. I just found this beer here in Calgary at the Liq Depot on 17th. $7.49 a 6pk everyday. Very clean & well balanced on the pallet. Makes me think summer. Totally worth it.
