Hogtown Golden Ale Gets Quiet Preview Ahead of Official Launch

TORONTO, ON – It won’t be officially launched for another couple of weeks, but the flagship beer from Hogtown Brewers has been quietly rolled out at a single bar for a preview run.

Hogtown Golden Ale – a Kölsch-style beer described as having “a smooth, sweet malt character” and being “modestly hopped, with a pleasant floral aroma” – was tapped last weekend at The Duke of Devon, a pub in Toronto’s Financial District. A launch event is expected to take place at the same location in early February, with distribution to other licensees to follow.

Hogtown is currently brewing out of the Cool Brewing facility in Etobicoke, and initially concentrating on draught distribution. Hogtown Golden Ale is the company’s only brand for now, but brewmaster Jay Cooke has a “hoppy, aggressive IPA” in the works as the next Hogtown offering.
