NOW Magazine Picks Toronto’s Best Local Brews

TORONTO, ON – As part of a cover feature on locally made alcoholic beverages, this week’s issue of NOW Magazine puts the spotlight on 30 beers that are brewed within 100 miles (or so) of Toronto, with each given a mini-review by drinks writer Graham Duncan.

Brews making the cut range from hipster friendly macro-brew Molson Stock Ale to hyper-local House Ales Fermium Black IPA from the tiny nano-brewery in the kitchen of barVolo. Duncan also includes Duggan’s No. 5 Sorachi Lager which comes from a brewery that he works for as a sales rep, but offers full disclosure and amusingly gives it a rating of “Your call” as opposed to NOW’s usual 1-to-5 Ns system.

Also included in the section are short profiles of three of Toronto’s newest breweriesBellwoods Brewery, Indie Alehouse and Junction Brewery – as well as write-ups on local wine and spirits.
