Canadian Breweries Take Medals At 2012 U.S. Open Beer Championship

ATLANTA, GA – The winners of the 2012 United States Open Beer Championship were announced this week, and several Canadian breweries – or more specifically, Ontario breweries – took home medals in several of the 65 style categories, including a full sweep in one category.

Canadian medal winners included the following:

English Summer Ale
SILVER –  First Draft Ale – Niagara College

Bitter
GOLD –  Butler’s Bitter – Niagara College
SILVER –  Arkell Best Bitter – Wellington County Brewing
BRONZE –  Neustadt Bitter – Neustadt Springs Brewery

Imperial Stout
BRONZE –  Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout – Nickel Brook

Old Ale
SILVER –  Iron Duke – Wellington County Brewing

Scottish Ale
BRONZE –  Scottish Pale Ale – Neustadt Springs Brewery

American Brown Ale
BRONZE –  10W30 Brown Ale – Neustadt Springs Brewery

Geman Lager / Pilsener
GOLD – Cameron’s Lager – Cameron’s Brewing

Munchner Helles
GOLD – Helenboch Beer – Niagara College

Dopple / Strong Bock
BRONZE – Deviator – Cameron’s Brewing 

American Cream Ale
GOLD –  Cameron’s Cream Ale – Cameron’s Brewing

Wood / Barrel aged strong beer
SILVER –  Bertwell Barrel Aged Barley Wine – Niagara College
