Georgian Brewing Setting Up Shop Near Owen Sound

OWEN SOUND, ON – The small city of Owen Sound will soon be home to Georgian Brewing, the latest in long series of small breweries to open in Ontario in the last several years.

Named for Georgian Bay, the large off-shoot of Lake Huron that Owen Sound sits on, the brewery is being opened by owner and brewmaster Spencer Wareham in a plaza on County Grey Road 18 just outside of the city. While the exact launch date is dependent on licensing, Wareham hopes to have beer available before Christmas.

The brewery will debut with a malty amber ale in the German Altbier style which will be available in 473 ml cans, 2 L growlers, and 20 & 58.6 L kegs in the brewery retail store. LCBO distribution is also planned, starting with the Owen Sound store, and it will also be on available on draught at a number of bars and restaurants in the area.

Watch for further updates here on CBN as they become available.
